2013
Fabrication research projects of soft robotics applications
in underwater propulsion and surgical robotics.
underwater robotics - tail propulsion
The aim of this project was to research novel ways to propel underwater robots
During the summer of 2013, I worked in the Olin Intelligent Vehicles Lab as a Research Engineer on the robotic tuna project. My role was to develop soft actuators (bladders) to oscillate the tail. Fabricating the bladders required complex multi-part molds and casting protocols. See a sped up clip of tail oscillation.

surgical robotics - soft endoscope
Sponsored by industry partners in surgical robotics, the aim of this project was to develop inflatables to travel through a channel mimicking the gastrointestinal tract.
